
Statute of Mr. Kleks Polish Saturday School in Accrington
Article I. Objectives of school activities.
1 The purpose of the school is to teach and educate the motherland and to instill national and patriotic feelings in children and young people.
2. The cooperation of the school with parents helps to achieve the goals.
3In order to achieve the above goals it is necessary to:
a) assist parents in the native upbringing of their children at home,
b) organize systematic instruction at school,
c) organize a Polish library at school,
d) ensure that children and youth participate in ceremonies related to Polish tradition and culture,
e) maintain contact with Polish schools, encouraging children and youth to correspond with each other in their native language.
Article II. Organization of the school.
1. The school year begins, if possible, on the second Saturday of September and ends at the beginning of July.
2. The school year is divided into 3 periods:
a) from September to Christmas,
b) from the first Saturday in January to the Saturday before Palm Sunday,
c) from the second Saturday after Easter to the end of the school year.
3. the school year should be ended with a festive gala, arranging plays and performances performed by children.
4. The head of the school should be a fully qualified teacher with experience in teaching.
5. the head of the school shall, as necessary, hospitalize the lessons of teachers, convene meetings of the Pedagogical Council and be its chairman.
6. The meetings of the Pedagogical Council shall be attended by all teachers teaching at the school.
7. In exceptional cases, the head of the school may invite a representative of the Parents' Council to a meeting of the Pedagogical Council.
The participation of the representative of the Parents' Council shall be for information only, but he may present some special issues and discuss them with the Pedagogical Council.
8. The Pedagogical Council of the school, at the request of the head of the school:
(a) determines the teaching material on the basis of the program for each class and the organization of the school year, the division of teaching and educational work in the school,
(b) determines the educational program,
(c) submits proposals for school aids to the Parent Council,
d) carries out selections and classifications of students,
e) decides on the transfer of students from one level to another,
f) designs events for children, celebrations and festivities,
g) decides on issues of issuing certificates and school certificates.
9Teachers at the school are:
a) teachers with full professional qualifications,
b) in exceptional situations, persons without professional qualifications.
10. Teachers without professional training should, if possible, go through a preparatory pedagogical course or acquire the necessary knowledge through self-education. It is the duty of unqualified teachers to address all difficulties in teaching to the head of the school or a qualified teacher.
11. An unqualified teacher is given the status of assistant.
12. The exclusive competence of the teacher is:
a) organization of teaching in the classroom,
b) selection of teaching methods and implementation of the curriculum.
Article III. School funds.
1) The school budget is based on:
a) funds raised by the school: grants from organizations and institutions, income from events organized by the school, income from collections organized among the public, donations from individuals and legal entities,
b) fees paid by parents.
2) The amount of fees is determined by the Board of Teachers in agreement with the Parents Council.
3) The school budget should be designed so that the costs of teachers' salaries, rent of school premises, maintenance of cleanliness of the school are covered by parents' fees. Funds raised by the school should be used for the purchase of school aids, books for the library, for professional textbooks for teachers.
4. The school budget should include the following expenses:
a) teachers' salaries,
b) the cost of renting premises,
c) school aids,
d) purchase of books for the library,
e) forms, certificates, school certificates.
5. The school fund is managed by the Pedagogical Council.
Article IV. Parents' Circle and Parents' Council.
1. members of the Parents' Circle are all parents of children attending the school.
2. meetings of the Parents' Circle are convened as needed at the request of the head of the school.
3The tasks of the Parents' Circle are as follows:
a) to assist in the collection of school fees, if requested by the Pedagogical Council,
b) to cooperate with the school in the education of the children,
c) to hold periodic meetings with the teachers at the request of the head of the school in order to discuss the progress of the children's education and behavior, and to discuss the educational advice given by the teachers or the head of the school,
d) to organize with the Pedagogical Council events for the school, games and performances for the children.
4.The work of the Parents' Circle is managed by the Parents' Council elected at a meeting of the Parents' Circle.
5. The Parents' Council consists of 2-4 members, including the chairman, deputy, secretary, treasurer.
6. The Parents' Circle is governed by its own rules of procedure, which may not contradict the provisions of this statute.
7. The Parents' Council participates in determining the amount of school fees.
Article V. Final Provisions.
(1) This statute shall enter into force on September 1, 2007.
