Why choose our school?
Bo jest to szkoła wyjątkowa i tworzona przez ludzi z pasją, do której chodzą niezwykli uczniowie – niezwykli, bo to ich szósty dzień w szkole. To tutaj , w Polskiej Szkole w Accrington, każdej soboty spotykają się uczniowie, nauczyciele i asystenci nauczycieli po to, by uczyć się po polsku i o Polsce. A spotyka się nas niemało – 150 uczniów i 25 członków grona pedagogicznego. W naszej szkole uczą się dzieci nie tylko z Accrington. Dojeżdżają z wielu miast i miasteczek naszego regionu.
The Polish school in Accrington has been in existence since 2007.
We try to make their stay at school attractive for children, so we organize many competitions, celebrations, projects, as well as regular events for the whole family - such as a family festival, Christmas Eve, talent show or Mother's Day, so the local community is involved in the life of the school. In addition, we invite various interesting people to the school.
The school runs classes for pre-school groups and eight grades of elementary school We work on Polish textbooks.
We prepare young people for exams in Polish as a foreign language at GCSE and A-level.
In 2014, we started cooperation with one of the schools from Lublin, thanks to which the oldest students of our school became at the same time students of a school in Poland, implement a distance learning program, receive Polish certificates and participate in inter-school exchanges(www.ihp-szkola.pl)
The school offers free speech therapy consultations, which take place every first Saturday of the month. They are conducted by a speech therapist, Magdalena Walecka, MA.
