MEETING WITH THE AUTHOR📚
On Saturday, April 2, our school hosted a workshop with writer Renata Kaminska. There was also an opportunity to purchase an autographed book.
About the book and the author:
"Hector, a dog's tale" has already garnered twelve reviews before its release, including that of actress Anna Samusionek and activist from the Mondo Cane Foundation. I also break the taboo of difficult topics in children's literature, including death, god, abandonment, etc. Although self-published, the book has managed to gather readers in more than 16 countries on 5 continents, which emphasizes the universality of the story. Since 2021, Renata has also conducted workshops with children in English and Polish schools to develop empathy towards animals.
The first book, "Hector, a dog's tale," was included in a mentoring program about dogs for children under the auspices of Westminster Children's University in London. The book is also available in 16 libraries in Poland and England.
In a nutshell, it's a story about the love of friendship and a puppy named Hector looking for happiness-set against the gray reality of World War II. It is a story that proves that hope never dies, and that happiness awaits everyone.
